Since the date is so momentous with all the 1's and all, I felt it was necessary to document my life at this very place in time.
I start nursing school in precisely 59 days. I received a couple emails this week informing me of my requirements before I start. I'll have to fork over something like $1800 in the next month for books, my uniform, shoes, a background check, a physical, a drug test, various immunizations, and a CPR certification class. That's on top of the $58,000ish base cost of the program. What am I doing?! I'm sure I'm doing the right thing though. It's about time I got my butt in gear and challenged myself.
This weekend Tommy and I will be taking my first load of stuff to the new house. Probably just the things from the attic and closet stuff I don't use regularly. I'm excited for my new room. It's much bigger with a nice sized closet and I can use the closet in the third bedroom if I need to. I'm ecstatic to have my own bathroom. I have never in my life had my very own bathroom and I cannot wait to keep it clean and hang my towel straight and have a cute shower curtain that I choose all by myself. Also, I'm looking forward to knowing that all mystery hairs are mine.
Yesterday was Tommy's and my 21 month-iversary. I can't believe we're pushing two years. We celebrated with Famous Dave's BBQ which was SO delicious. My mouth waters at the thought. We love to watch Jeopardy, specifically the current tournament of champions, and seasons of The Big Bang Theory on DVD courtesy of Netflix. We also love the Ducks but not right now because they have lost 6 games in a row.
The weather forecast says rain tomorrow. It better not be lying because I am very excited about it.
I suppose that'll do it for today. Have a happy day!

First of all, let me apologize for the hideous color scheme of my blog. The editor on this thing frustrates me so much that I just left it.
The leaves are not really falling. It's fall so naturally I enjoy looking at orange and brown patterns and pretending there is a chill in the air and my neighbors are baking pies. None of this is true. Wednesday has a forecast of 94 degrees. Pool anyone?
Dad came to Orange County on Saturday and together we drove out to Highland to look at houses. We found the (almost) perfect one and put a deposit down. I really liked it but there are a few quirky things that show the age of the place. Like, hunter green vertical blinds and floor length blinds on a non floor length window. There's also very shiny gold around the fireplace making it look like it belongs in the Fresh Prince mansion. The keys are in our possession at the end of the month and I'll slowly move my junk over there through the end of the year. I can't believe nursing school is so soon. There goes my life!
Anyway, I miss everyone. Hope everything is good! And those of you who have that crisp fall air, take some deep breaths for me. Xo!

Dreaming
Not the "I have a dream..." kind of dreaming. The kind that happens while I sleep, specifically the kind that makes me think I'm absolutely losing my mind when I wake up and realize the story my brain just told. I don't normally write down my dreams, but this one was just too good to pass up. Last night in real life, I took a Chemistry test, which I suppose this stems from.
My class was separated into teams. Each team took their cumulative scores from past exams, totaled them, and whichever team had the highest score was the winner. When the winner was about to be announced, I got a nosebleed so my team was disqualified from the competition. I was so ashamed that this happened that I ran outside onto the cobblestone street, hopped on my bicycle and rode off as fast as I could. I sped down the street dodging kids with balloons and vendors on the sidewalks. I needed a place to hide so I ducked inside a burger joint and pretended to wait in line, still on my bike. When it was my turn to order, I told them I would be back in 6 minutes (I wanted them to think I was a customer because I had used the bathroom and it said 'customers only').
This is where it gets good...
I pedaled my way through a door in the wall connecting to the next shop which was a small sitting room with a lady sitting inside a balloon shaped like a smoothie cup but with only her head poking out where the straw would be. This wasn't odd to me, and I thought it was some sort of carnival attraction so I wanted to try. They handed me a balloon which felt tight as i stepped in and pulled it up to my neck. They inserted the smoothie pump and proceeded to fill the balloon until it reached the desired shape. It felt more like a slurpee, more icy than milky. I was disappointed because the first lady's cup was rainbow colors and mine was only pink. I was then told to pop my balloon I just had to kick so I did. I felt as though I wanted to tell the world what I had just experienced so I stepped out onto the sidewalk and grabbed Catie and another unidentifiable girl and pulled them inside. Catie thought I was crazy but agreed to do it to humor me. They only had one balloon left, so unidentifiable girl didn't get to try. Catie refused to put her feet in, so she folded herself in half so her head and feet stuck out the top. Because one must kick the balloon to pop it, and her feet were not inside, the shop owner had to pop it for her.
Fast forward to back on my bike, flying down a neighborhood sidewalk with Tommy on his bike behind me. I hit one of those raised cracks in the sidewalk that happen when a tree root grows too big. I flew off my bike and landed in a pile of groceries that a man was unloading from a van onto his driveway. He proceeded to invite Tommy and I inside for dinner so we helped him bring his groceries in. Tommy started cleaning the refrigerator and discovered everything this man had was expired by at least a few years. Tommy didn't feel comfortable throwing away things that didn't belong to him, so he started marinating the chicken for dinner instead. The man came in the kitchen and said, "Oh, teriyaki. That sounds good."
The end.
If you read this whole thing, good for you. All these images were cluttering my mind and maybe now that I wrote them I'll feel more organized. Or I'll go mental and start confusing dreams with reality. Either way, Happy Thursday!

Hot Hot Heat
Heyo on a Thursday. It is blazing hot and has been all week. I love the warm evenings. I do not love the instant sweat beads on my upper lip and forehead when I walk outside while the sun is still up. It is 98 degrees in Yorba Linda at the moment and 70 degrees in Ventura. Boy do I live in the wrong place!
I have an appointment this afternoon so I came into work a little early today. I was supposed to be here at 9am, but woke up at 8:55 with my alarm clock on the floor and no memory of it going off at 7:45. Fab.
What else.. what else... School! I do that. I have Bio/Organic Chem on Monday and Wednesday nights which so far is just review and pretty easy. I also have Research Methods online and my books have not arrived in the mail yet so I'm pretending it doesn't exist. Starting at APU in January.. nothing new with that yet.
Tommy's best friend Josh and girlfriend have a new baby girl. She was born Sunday and Tom & I visited them in the hospital on Monday. There is something so magical about baby hands and feet and the little button nose and teeny tiny lips. I could have held her forever.
Angels game coming up this weekend with the roomies. Also Rascal Flatts concert at San Manuel on the 17th and Blink 182 & My Chemical Romance on Oct 1 with Tom. I'm excited about all of these things but I'd really like to go to Ventura. I miss my family.
That is all. Hope you're having a good week!

Happy Humpday!
Holaaaa.
I took a break from the novels I like to read at my desk to update the bloggie. I was just about done with The Help and Catie and I went to see the movie last night. So good!! They did an excellent job bringing the book to screen. A lot of it was word for word. I haven't been in a theater packed so full in a long time. It was also $5 ticket Tuesday, so that may have something to do with it. Also, I like Emma Stone.
Tommy leaves today for a camping trip to Florence Lake (very close to Shaver for those inexperienced) and I am very jealous. I'd love to dip my toes, or really my whole self, in those mountain waters. He returns Sunday and meanwhile I will be going to Ventura to help my parents and Battens move. Shout out to Tom for letting me borrow the Jeep!
I've started watching Numbers (or Numb3rs, whatever) whilst at the gym. I love the StairMaster because it makes my butt sore. Another shout out to Tommy for motivating me. Does everyone know about MyFitnessPal? Catie introduced me to it. It's a website and also an app that tracks how much exercise and what you eat each day. You choose a goal and it'll tell you what to do to lose a pound a week, or 2, or a half, whatever you choose. I don't want to lose 20 pounds or anything, but it is helpful to be healthier when I see all these things written down in front of me.
That is all for today. Have a good Wednesday, friends!

Happy 27th to Sissy!
First and foremost, Happy Birthday Sissypants!! The big 2-7 woowoo! I'm very much looking forward to going to Ventura this weekend to celebrate the occasion. I love my sister and I love celebrations, therefore it will be epic.
I think that is about all that is worthy of note. I did some laundry this morning before work. That's new. I also need a carwash probably worse than I've ever needed one. My white car looks dark gray in some parts. I also need to tan and get an eyebrow wax. I've really let myself go. I have been going to the gym though. Tommy worked me out for like 4 minutes on Monday and I'm still very sore.
Has anyone watched the show In Plain Sight? I love to watch it on my phone while ellipticising (that means exercising on the elliptical). I highly recommend the show. I'm almost done with the episodes that are available on Netflix. Does anyone have suggestions for a new show I can obsess over?
Can you tell my life is not so exciting? I wish I had a baby to take pictures of, or the discipline to go on a diet and video blog about it. Oh well! Hope everyone is happy and healthy!
