Ten on Tuesday

I'm still mildly judging myself for jumping on the blog bandwagon but it is Tuesday, and on Tuesdays we write ten things.

1. I started school this morning. Physiology lecture from 8:30 to 10:00. I didn't hate it but I was just so tired. My darling Tommy is in the class too which makes the transition a little more gentle. He is so motivated. I am so not. <3

2. Currently, the illness of my Grandma Eve, her recent turn toward the negative, and bracing myself for the call that she has passed is making the clock tick slower and my heart beat faster. The last time I dealt with death I think I was ten years old (unless Heath Ledger counts) and not really able to grasp it. I grasp it now, though my subconscious keeps hinting that it's easier to live in denial... People don't just disappear.

3. As if I blotted out the era when my Abby dog so annoyingly lived in my apartment, I have been on the hunt for a new pet to love. Everyone hates cats except me and all other choices are either boring or smell bad, so I remain dog-driven. I came across a doggy daycare center that keeps a handful of foster dogs up for adoption. This pleasant establishment allows potential owners to keep the dog(s) on a trial basis, no payment required until the decision is made. I am very smart and always make rational decisions so there is a dog in my house right now. His name might be Jeffrey or Henry.. maybe Tucker.. but that is beside the point. Other than pooping by the front door overnight and having some serious separation anxiety, I like him.

4. Catie and I are desperate for a roommate. Allison is going to bounce out any day now and we surely can't pay for the place by ourselves. We have interviewed three girls, none of whom have worked out. We have a potential fourth interview but not really any leads. Another example of why getting a dog was a splendid idea.

5. Baby Franklin #6 is still a bun in the oven even though the due date was yesterday. The anticipation is killing me! I had a dream the Franklins bought a big house and asked me to move in and work full time for them. I liked it. I also dream about alternate realities and tax evasion so I wouldn't exactly call it prophecy.

6. I have worked in childcare, a bike shop, a tanning salon, an IT department, a non-profit for medical coders, a caretaker for the ailing/elderly, a babysitter/errand-runner, and my current stint as customer service in a print shop (inhaling poisonous chemicals all day, I'm sure). I've attended 8 colleges, lived abroad, traveled the world, found love and a best friend. Can I be done now?

7. My car lease is up in November. Mandy is such an impractical little beast and my common sense tells me to turn her in, buy a used Kia with a missing hubcap, and try actually living inside my means for once. My problem lies here: I love her. Each time I take a moment to lay eyes on those sleek red curves and that wild horse on the grill, I fall in love all over again. When I put pressure on that pedal and hear her rumble... ahhh... it's like a dream.

8. I love to read blogs. I regularly read three blogs: Batten Bloggin, Peyton's Pages, and Jasmine Star Photography blog. If you have never seen J-Star's blog check it out. She is fantastic. If I had lots of thousands of dollars, I would have her shoot my engagement photos and wedding. I have a closet dream of being a photographer.. though that is on the list somewhere in between underwater welder and astronaut. Back to the point, I think deep down I'm secretly hoping someone will love to read my blog.

9. I would love nothing more than to be in bed right now. My apartment is probably 95 degrees so scratch that. I'd like to jump in the pool and just float.

10. Reflecting on my first Tuesday post, it was much harder than I expected. If I had 10 things worth posting about, I probably wouldn't have time for this blog!

  1. 1. That class is so early and sounds so hard, but at least your boy is there with you to make it better.

    2. I'm so sad about this. Steph told me about it yesterday.

    3. Nice! But you should get a girl dog so it doesn't hump anything. What kind of dog are you renting?

    4. It's a shame you live so far away. I'm jump. I'm not unhappy in my living situation, but it's weird now that my roomie's BF lives with us.

    5. Your dreams make me laugh.

    6. Sounds like a pretty amazing life. What eight colleges? VC, Vanguard, and SAS... the other five?

    7. Mandy is so amazingly pretty... that's a hard decision to make.

    8. Jasmine Star is AWESOME. Also, you should ad my fascinating blog to your list. No children, just my deep (and sometimes not!) thoughts.

    9. Pool. Sounds. Good.

    10. I know, it's really hard.

PS I'm quite hopeful I see you in a few weeks when Hillary comes over here.
