Musings on a Monday

I watched about an hour of the VMAs last night. It sparked a silent discussion with myself about the sorts of people we share this earth with. The select group are televised walking around handing awards to each other and talking about how much they like themselves. The other group is much much larger, and the members belittle themselves to catch a glimpse or a touch of the idol group. Why the need for someone/something to worship? I realize we were created with the intention of being a part of something greater than ourselves on this earth; therefore, we innately strive to be big, to know, to be known. Though challenged to put God at the center of attention, our adorations have grossly missed their target.

Some of these people are talented and I can appreciate the sharing of their talents with the world... But some of them are really just NOT and it makes me think violent thoughts.

Welp, done with that crap! Too much effort required for meaningful words.

This weekend was spent out in the wild blue yonder with Tommy's parents. Yet another reminder that I was born to retire. We shot some pool and threw some horseshoes. We ate delicious food, and took a cruise at sunset with the convertible converted. We returned on Sunday for a bbq birthday bash for a best bud of the boyfriend.

Not the liveliest of weekends but overall satisfactory. It is always wonderful spending time with my man. <3

PS I miss my family.
